World-famous tenor José Carreras will perform on 21 July in Zadar with a programme called „Mediterranean Passion". The 80-minute concert in front of Saint Mary Church will include Celine Byrne, Ireland's leading soprano. They will be accompanied by the Croatian Radio and Television Symphonic Orchestra with the guest conductor David Giménez Carreras. The price of a ticket is expected to be around 300 Kunas or 41 Euros.
José Carreras, one of the greatest opera singers at the present, guarantees his concert to be an unforgettable and extraordinary night.

Brand new album „Mediterranean Passion" José Carreras released a new CD „Mediterranean Passion" (Sony) „Mediterranean Passion" is a return to my musical Mediterranean roots...these are songs from my homeland Catalonia that have always moved me when I hear them, and songs from Italy that always enthused me". „In these songs it is the passion, the emotion, a feeling in my heart and soul that I attempt to express with my voice..." José Carreras will perform some of these selected songs at the concert in Zadar - together with other beautiful melodies and a couple of duets with the great irish Soprano Celine Byrne.

In an interview with the „Times" Mr. Carreras was wrongly quoted that he will quit the opera stage. This is NOT the fact. „If the right offer comes I still can consider to go on stage again - and in fact I still have some plans for the future. But I love to give concerts around the world the same time! I consider myself a very fortunate person that I can do what I love most: singing beautiful melodies..."
